Enable file download in Mediafly

Launched Juan C. 35 days ago

After sending a catalog to a customer, that there was no option for them to download the file. I checked the file in the management view and noticed there is a setting that must be enabled for each file to allow recipients to download it. Currently, this setting is turned off for all files. My questions are:

1. if the option to download is for Mediafly users or the customers?

2. if it can be mass-enabled only for the files from the USA?

3. If that option will allow customer to download the files from a computer? As the option from the phone is already available.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Juan,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. Below are the answers for your questions:

Who can download?
The option is primarily for customers/external recipients accessing shared content. Mediafly users also have download permissions, but those are controlled separately through user/group permissions.

Can it be mass-enabled only for USA files?
Yes. The canDownload field can be bulk-updated using an item-export spreadsheet. The USA files can be filtered first, then only those files can be enabled. This is not a simple automatic “USA only” switch; Support/Engineering or Professional Services may need to perform the bulk update.

Can customers download from a computer?
Yes. Customers can download eligible files from shared Collections or Digital Sales Rooms using the web viewer on a computer. For bulk downloads, Mediafly sends a download link by email
