- Browser: Mediafly supports the two most recent major versions of these browsers Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge
- Outlook add-in: Microsoft 365 ver. >= 16.0.13530.20424 and Windows 11; or, non-subscription Office 2021 or later and Windows 11 (source). Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 are not supported.
Limited Supported Operating Systems
Operating Systems with limited support have some core features that may not be available on these platforms, therefore some clients may not be able to use the following platforms given their use cases

Virtual Machines
The Mediafly desktop app does not support being installed on virtual machine (eg. VDIs).

iOS - iPhone 6s, iPad (5th Gen), iPad Mini (4th Gen), iPad Air 2
Apple TV 4th Generation
Android - Recommended devices: phones and tablets by Google (Nexus, Pixel), Samsung, LG, and Sony with 2GB Ram, 1.5 GHz processor
Windows or Mac OS - Models with 2GB RAM, 1.5 GHz Processor
(Certain devices such as Kindle devices, Nook devices, Windows Phones, Windows 86 bit Tablets are not supported)
Quality Standards for Videos
Mediafly's systems can handle videos of most any size, format or bitrate, however, to ensure compatibility it is recommended that video content be delivered in the following spec:
Recommended Video Specs
- Resolution: 1280x720, 1920x1080 or 3840x2160
- Frame Rate: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 59.94, 60
- Bit Rate: 3mbps minimum (6mbps for 3840x2160)
- Codec: h264 or h265
- Note: Mediafly will generate h264 video encoded at multiple bit rates starting at 512kbps up to 8mbps and less than the input video bit rate for dynamic stream switching on the fly.
Recommended Audio Specs
Stereo:
- Codec: AAC
- Bit Rate: 128kbps minimum
- Channels: 2
5.1 Audio:
- Codec: AC3
- Bit Rate: 256kbps minimum
- Channels: 6
Supported File Types
We support most video and audio file types, as well as PDFs and Microsoft Office files***. Keynote files are supported with additional fee. If you have a question about a specific file type or size, please contact us at support.mediafly.com

This document describes the limitations that Mediafly places on various aspects of the system. These limitations are in place to ensure all of our customers are able to have a great experience while using Mediafly.

| Overlay watermarks | When going to fullscreen on Safari Mobile, videos may not show overlay watermarks. This is because both browsers take over the fullscreen entirely and do not provide Mediafly with the ability to continue to overlay watermarks. We do attempt to present fullscreen on these browsers, but this may not always be possible based on browsers themselves. |
